Sven Marquardt, now a photographer and legendary head doorman/bouncer of the famous dark industrial techno club Berghain in Berlin, photographed during his mid-twenties in 1985 while sitting faraway-so-close to a Volkspolizei officer in the Berlin U-Bahn, at a time when he admirably survived against all odds, being a gay punk in communist East Germany (…you can read a relevant post of mine here, if this makes you wonder what it meant to be a young punk during that era behind the “Iron Curtain”…)
